Cacaolab was founded in 2012 as an R&D company and spin-off of Ghent University. We focus strongly on 'Innovation and Training from Bean to Praline' by translating fundamental science into practical solutions and applications for third parties around the world. Cacaolab provides support to a diverse range of companies, ranging from SMEs to multinationals in the cocoa and chocolate producing and processing industry, as well as B2B manufacturers of ingredients and processing equipment.

Our small-scale experimental production facility symbolises our innovative approach. The facility is specially designed for development of chocolate and a range of confectionery products. Here, we make prototypes and test cocoa powder or butter alternatives in new applications.
